The Royal Cinema
Built in 1939, the Royal Cinema is a historic Art Deco movie house positioned in Little Italy. Originally called the Pylon, this 390-seat theatre once covered a roller-skating rink on the rear and a dance corridor on the second floor. Today, the indie theatre keeps the old-timey feel but presents films that attraction to a wide variety of cinematic tastes, in addition to screenings, stay concerts, and film festivals. Don’t miss “Drunk Feminist Films,” a comedy screening occasion wherein an audience complete of feminists snark their way through “complicated moments in movies they love (or like to hate).”
